Book your photography session in Slovakia and immerse yourself in the magnificent landscapes while waiting for the majestic brown bear. This experience offers you the rare opportunity to connect with nature and observe brown bears up close. The adventure involves a combination of fixed stakeouts and short walks in the areas with the greatest concentration of these splendid animals. You will be accompanied by Jozef , our trusted Slovakian contact and expert in bear tracking and photography stalking. No huts or foraging of any kind will be used, ensuring a natural and authentic experience.

How are the sessions organised?
The sessions take place in the northern area of Slovakia, both inside the forests and in open spaces depending on the activity of the bears. Sessions are structured around a minimal combination of sunset and sunrise and can be customized to your needs and travel times. Depending on your preferences, additional sessions can be added to the package, extending your stay on site. Before the session, Jozef will hold a briefing during which he will explain how to access the locations , the behaviors to follow to guarantee the success and safety of the experience. It will be essential to follow his advice and directions on the field. It is not possible to book just one sunset or just one sunrise, since, as these bears are completely free and not foraged, minimal continuity in the field is necessary.
when?
The sessions take place every day depending on availability, in a period from 20 April to 30 June, or from 20 August to 10 September.
LOCATION, ACCOMODATION AND MEALS:
The location must be reached independently, the precise location will be provided following registration. The recommended airport is Krakow (Poland), from which it will be necessary to rent a car or book a private transfer. RECOMMENDED PACKAGES:
The basic package costs €250 and includes a sunset and a sunrise session. If you want to do two days the price is €400 , in the case of 3 days €600 or it is possible to add to the tour with Jonathan Giovannini scheduled for May 2025. A maximum of 4 photographers can participate in each session.

PHOTOGRAPHIC SPOTS
During these photographic sessions we will usually take advantage of stakeouts and itinerant walks. In some cases we could also take advantage of short car safaris. In the case of stakeouts it will be necessary to use camouflage material to cover yourself and the equipment (if it is not available it will be possible to rent it directly on site). In any case, clothing in not very bright colors, long trousers and a jacket for the coldest moments of the day is recommended. The use of boots is recommended, preferably waterproof. The sessions will be carried out from early afternoon until sunset and from morning before dawn until the end of the animals’ activity.
RECOMMENDED PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT
This itinerary offers a magnificent experience without any barrier to animals, for this reason it is recommended to have a lens of at least 500mm (full frame equivalent) available. In some situations it could be very useful to use a tripod, the advice is to always carry it with you and then follow the instructions given by the guide depending on the location chosen.

Departures for sessions usually take place around 3.30pm in the afternoon, until sunset and from around 3.15am until a few hours after sunrise. Usually the route to reach the spots is not demanding and takes place on mainly flat terrain.
At the end of the session, you will be accompanied to your car by our guide. From there, you will have the option to return or book a hotel to spend the night or repeat the experience the next day.
