Winter 2025

5-day photo tour, from January 29th to February 2nd 2025 in search of the main subjects that live in the Swiss mountains: we will have the opportunity to photograph very interesting subjects such as the Alpine chamois, the ibex, the partridge, the mountain hare and most likely also the stoat with Jonathan Giovannini.

ABOUT THE TOUR:

It will be a tour in Switzerland , more specifically in the French part of this magnificent territory. The closest airport is Geneva, served by several flights from Italy (for example from Rome). Transport on site will have to be organized independently.

We will move in specific areas where it will be possible to meet the Alpine chamois, the ibex, the partridge, the mountain hare, the pygmy owl, the owl, probably also the stoat and much more .

In Switzerland, a fascinating spectacle of various bird species opens up. The majestic mountains, which dominate two-thirds of the country, are the stage for fascinating alpine species, where with a bit of luck it will be possible to meet and photograph the partridge, the bearded vulture and the long-eared owl. Along the shores of the lakes instead, we will have the opportunity to immortalize grebes, swans and different varieties of ducks. The reed beds, which serve as a habitat for various bird species, including one of the most magnificent in the world, the bearded reed and the kingfisher.

RECOMMENDED PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT:

A telephoto lens of 400mm or more will undoubtedly be essential for photographing the main subjects of this tour.

During this tour there are no long walking distances, no technical difficulties of movement. For this reason we will have the possibility to bring with us all the necessary material, including possibly also the tripod.

DAY BY DAY PROGRAM:

The program may be subject to changes agreed with the group. Any variation will be decided based on the weather and the activity of the animals in order to improve the experience.

January 29 : Arrival at Geneva airport in the afternoon, followed by a 1h transfer to the destination location. Assignment of accommodation and sleeping arrangements. In case of independent transfer by car you can arrive directly at the place of overnight stay.
from 29th to 1st : during the days of stay we will take advantage of all the available photographic sessions, optimizing the time available as best as possible. The goal is to go out at sunrise and sunset, thus taking advantage of 6 photographic sessions. The sessions will be held in different spots, dividing the activities between car safaris and walking excursions. Typically the excursions will be carried out over rather short average distances of a maximum of approximately 1-2 km depending on the activity of the animals.
February 2 : Optional dawn session, followed by preparation for the return to Italy.
